Once I decided to pursue the The Portland MBA and committed myself to the process, I’ve been amazed at how much I’ve been able to change in my own life simply by deciding that it was time to make a change. Understanding how I was selling myself short has inspired me to do a lot more than I have before.
PSU offers many opportunities including internships, mentors and guest speakers from local companies that it helps to focus on establishing relationships within the local business community. This network has had the largest impact on my career path post-graduation.
The support from faculty, my cohort, my study abroad cohort, and my capstone team were integral to my success. The most important skills I learned were deeper emotional intelligence and a greater capacity for vulnerability. Being more vulnerable increased my confidence and risk tolerance, which are essential for entrepreneurship.
It only takes about 20 months. At the starting line, 20 months feels like a marathon. At the finish line, it feels like a sprint. As my farewell to the School of Business, I have some parting thoughts to share:
