The staff support is hands down one of the best things about the The Portland MBA, prior to being accepted as well as after becoming enrolled. The opportunities to travel abroad were a key factor for me as well.
And it’s corny but true that the students in the Master of Taxation program inspire me. They are amazing — graduating in one year, working full time, being a parent and studying for CPA exams. Some even go through this program with a new baby or a toddler.
My experience with The Portland MBA has provided me with a unique perspective around sustainability in business. A strong sustainability orientation is embedded into the core curriculum of the program in a way that is unparalleled in other MBA programs.
I have always been interested in human development, and consequently career development. My role as lead ambassador allows me to have conversations with individuals who are at a pivot point in their development, whether they are looking to be promoted within their own companies or change careers.
Through my cohort, international experience, events and guest speakers, Portland State University has introduced me to a lot of people I would not have met otherwise. Some of these people have helped me discover career possibilities that I did not know existed.
Once I decided to pursue the The Portland MBA and committed myself to the process, I’ve been amazed at how much I’ve been able to change in my own life simply by deciding that it was time to make a change. Understanding how I was selling myself short has inspired me to do a lot more than I have before.
