2019 internship recap

A degree is a wonderful achievement, and adding professional experience puts students in an even better position to land their dream job upon graduation. I interviewed a few of our students with internships over the past year, all of them noted how their graduate coursework helped them thrive as interns. Check out the testimonials to catch up on what our students have been up to.

Alum feature: Meet Alexis Nelson

Throughout her career, Alexis has kept tabs on trends in the investment management world. Soon after starting the Master of Finance, she came across a story about the increasing popularity of impact investing at universities. This gave her an idea for the topic of her Graduate Capstone Project: how The School of Business could start an impact investing the fund.

Alum feature: Meet Xuan Hoffman

โ€œI am excited to have a career where I can help individuals and businesses make the best financial decision for them,โ€ Xuan Hoffman says. โ€œWhether itโ€™s providing the right loan, consulting with a business owner or advising an individual on their savings and investments, I want to give others the ability to spend their energy on the people and experiences that matter.โ€

Alum feature: Meet Tevin Connor

โ€œThereโ€™s always so much to learn from others,โ€ Tevin Connor says. โ€œThis program opened my eyes to fields I had no interaction with before. Itโ€™s okay if you donโ€™t know exactly what youโ€™d like to do at first. What matters is that youโ€™re willing to learn.โ€
